A Magical Letter From Santa
It’s all about Christmas these days, and since this is the first year that my daughter Nat has actually written to Santa on her own (in the past we’ve just “emailed“- and I did all the writing!), I thought it would be a special treat for her and her brother Ollie to receive a real letter from Santa. It is also the first Christmas where her reading skills have improved so much that she is finally able to read it herself – and best of all, and still believe! (my 3-year-old on the other hand, will be thrilled with that fact that something in the mail is actually for him)…..And what is Christmas without a bit of magic?
Online there are loads of places where you can get this sort of “Santa” letter, but the one I am using is owned by a stay-at-home-Mom like myself, called Secret Santa Mail.
It is pretty straightforward and easy (you can pay by PayPal, which I always prefer over using my credit card online), and all you have to do is to supply them with some information about your child, accomplishments and what they want for Christmas. They also offer two packages, both of which come with little extras if you choose, like Christmas stickers or a Santa teddy bear – a lovely touch that makes it more special, I think!
So with bated breath, I’ll be waiting for the letters to arrive….most especially to see my children’s faces when they open them!

Wow that’s great! I had no idea something like that even existed. My wife and I were going to work on the Christmas lists with the kids this weekend, and now we can actually have them get something back from Santa. Our oldest is 6 years old and we’re willing to do whatever it takes to keep him “believing” as long as possible. Our biggest fear is that he’s going to catch on and ruin it for his younger siblings….
Thanks for the idea!

I make a glittery, sparkly letter myself every year for our son. Complete with “reindeer dust” (glitter) in a plastic baggy with directions from Santa to sprinkle it on the doorstep on Christmas Eve so the reindeer know where to land.

[...] He went back to the store, told the clerk what he found, and returned the money. He said. “In hindsight, I guess it would have been nice to have. And Christmas sure would have been great, but it wasn’t mine. That’s the way I was brought up and it’s what I teach my children.” [...]

Happy Holidays Everyone!
My son was in a rush to have his long list of toys sent to Santa in time and he can’t wait till thursday. He gets so excited to set up the cookies and milk. He even got a suprise call from Santa this year, I found this really cute thing where you just text XMAS to 50799 and Santa will call you. They called me back after the text to set up the call and I had him answer the phone. Jake’s face was priceless, he told all his friends at school. We also just added a homemade gingerbread house to our list of Christmas traditions, I hope they continue the call from Santa every year too.
I hope everyone has already sent the Christmas cards and gets there shopping done in time.

What a great find, Kelly! If only we could let our kids believe in Santa for always….
