I did this for my older daughter and it worked wonders. It became a game to find and get rid of the monsters. We used a flashlight to “zap” them away with my youngest.

This helped my children not to be afraid when they are along or having a bad dream. With a little encouragement from us, they feel that they can face the monsters ad night terrors.

I don’t know why, but this reminds me of what Susan in Discworld does (although she’s actually killing monsters) by going into the basement with a poker, making lots of noise and coming out with it all bent!

When I was younger and scared, my parents just used to play Meatloaf until I gave up being scared and collapsed through tiredness. I love my parents

I agree – great idea! Regardless of how hard we try to make our kids believe there are no monsters, it is so real in their imaginations. I remember those days where my imagination ran wild…..wish I would have had some of this spray to help me get to sleep and forget about the monsters.
