Great blog you've got going here! I just wanted to add that it is very important that your partner is aware of what you are going through. It is helpful if a man is aware of your needs and can share in this experience, which after all is something that binds two people together. Oftentimes, jobs, schedules, activities and other factors can make a husband neglect the importance of this last month and your need to stay busy. In a husband's attempt to be overprotective, he may think it's normal for the expecting wife to be stationary and thus overlook a woman's need to keep her mental juices flowing. Speaking from a man's point of view, I think more husbands should read your blog for insight.

Oh for a month to myself! I would read everything and anything; parenting books, trashy novels, newspapers... Crafting keeps you busy too, especially if you're making something for the new baby. In reality all I did was sit in bed and eat cake. Ahem.

I spent all my time reading as much as I could about raising a child and getting things ready around the house. There are tons of great books and websites out there with advice.
Online games are fun, but I found sitting at the computer for long periods uncomfortable.

Hello,

I think this is a great website that really prepares mothers to be to become a mother. One thing as parents that we want to always keep in mind is to make sure at a very young age to teach your children. I am talking specifically for you to teach your baby math and reading. I worked for the school system for over 15 years and what they are requiring from kids today is totally unreal. They want kids to take so many examinations and I am one that doesn't feel that exams show how kids are doing in school. What happens if your child just doesn't do well on tests or they get nervous when it comes to taken examinations. This doesn't mean they are not smart, but this is what the school system is all about. I taught my son and daughter math and reading at 1 month old, yes you read it correctly one month and they are doing totally awesome in school now. I know for a fact that if I didn't teach them they wouldn't be doing this good in school. So, please you only have one chance to teach them so go for it! I currently am a researcher on kids and education and I have a website that helps kids and parents.
